Captain Bennett gets his 100th Cap

29 Jun 2017

Congratulations to 1st Grade Captain David Bennett who played his 100TH 1ST GRADE GAME against Wests at Jamison last weekend.

Yes that is right, 100th 1st grade game….A truly outstanding effort by Benno.

Benno first came to the club in 2009 as a fresh faced colt. In that same year he made his 1st grade debut. Since then Benno has gone on to play Brumbies Colts, ACT Griffins and more recently at the Mauritius 10’s with the Brumbies.

This is a very rare feat these days and this milestone is a testament to the commitment Benno has to the club and the type of player he is.

When asked about Bennet’s time at the Owls, Club President Jason Smith said “This is a fantastic milestone and I can’t think of anyone more deserving. Dave’s commitment, leadership and tenacity shine through every time he takes the field. The way he conducts himself both on and off the field make him a great ambassador for our Club”

Benno was presented with his First Grade Honours Cap and a framed photo prior to the game by fellow 100 Club member, Russell Ingram in front of his club mates, family and a raft of notable former Owls players and Life Members.
