Match Report v Vikings and ADFA

19 Jun 2019

Despite some fantastic play our best result of the day was 3rds drawing 5 all but Vikings had to pull out a try in the final minutes to catch us.
Womens (15s) lost 17 – 15 with a single conversion the difference and after being the dominant team in first half. It was a close match with us just being unable to finish off at critical times. Rosie and Georgia  led the way with some incredible barging runs, tackles and both scoring well deserved tries.
Womens 10s Development League team lost to ADFA 30 – 10 with great tries to Bella Dunne and the ‘evergreen’ Baynsie. Unfortunately Lennie was KOed but she is well on the mend and ready to as soon as she is given the green light. She also made our team of the week.
Colts put in a very creditable and strong showing against a team that has won 7 of its 9 games going down
27 – 19. The young but experienced players leading the way especially Iggy Bonsembiante and Sam Lindeman.
First grade were up against in the first half with the score sitting at 29 nil at half time. However a second half revival saw us run in 4 unanswered tries an claim a bonus point with the final score 29 -20. This cements our place in 4th position on the  ladder but we need to pull out all stops this week against arch enemy Royals on their 70th Anniversary Match.
2nds and 4ths were outclassed on the day as  we continue to experience extreme injury numbers as well as the usual exodus of students at end of Semester 1.
